What a weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving! The kids don't believe me when I tell them that Thanksgiving is only one day! They truly believe that it is a multiple day holiday! God has tremendously blessed us with much to be thankful for. We were able to serve at a community Thanksgiving dinner with Sherry's family. Alyssa was able to minister to a guest through her ability to sign. That was very neat to watch. It was definitely an emotional experience and a wonderful ministry opportunity for the kids to observe and participate in. The kids were able to get a glimpse of how they could serve others just as Christ did.

We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon with Matt's family. It was wonderful to see Grandma outside of the nursing home. She was able to come to Matt's mom's for the afternoon. We continue to pray for healing for Matt's dad as he battles cancer, but are very thankful that he is able to continue on with most of his daily activities throughout his radiation treatments. Matt's Aunt Janna was also there. She is battling cancer, as well, and the chemo is really taking a lot out of her. It was good to see her in good spirits! I am thankful that I am able to find hope and strength in Christ.

Friday, we had Thanksgiving with my family at mom's. Again, lots of family gathered together with much to be thankful for. Luke and Renee are pregnant and she is doing well. Praise the Lord! The kids enjoyed several days with cousins. They cherish that time spent with cousins and look forward to next time!! I am thankful for Godly advice and encouragement from family.

We had our annual shopping trip on Saturday morning to get birthday gifts, played outside with the cousins and then we went to get our Christmas tree. No better time to do it b/c we have many busy weekends ahead and who could wish for better weather for cutting down a tree-sunny and in the 50's!

Looking for the perfect tree...They had to realize that
there was no "perfect" tree!

Finally, on our way back to the barn with a great tree!
