Long Weekend... Fun Trip

The kids were able to go to school on Friday; just in time for their Valentine's Parties... and 100's day celebrations and activities and Jump/Hoops for Heart and a 2 hour delay. They had lots of activities crammed into one day b/c that was their only day at school last week. We had Monday off due to President's Day and now we have another snow day! We went to Fort Wayne for the long weekend and came home to another winter storm.

We enjoyed our time in Fort Wayne...basketball games for Holden, Grayson and Haley and ultimate frisbee games for Alyssa and Holden. Mackenzie shared some of her violin songs and parts of some of her dances with us, also. It was very fun to see lots of family in their Hawks shirts and Rylie and Haley leading the crowd in cheers-what Hawks Spirit! Rylie is still hoarse from all the cheering. And of course, the highlight of the weekend for the kiddos was playing pioneers.

Rylie had asked me when we picked her up from school on Friday if I remembered her pioneer outfit. I didn't but promised that there would be enough for everyone and that I wouldn't forget it next time.

We were also able to be a part of their Valentine's blessings tradition; sharing how each one is blessed and has blessed others; sharing God's love. "...Love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." (John 15:12-13) Jesus provided us with the ultimate example of how we should love others and this Valentine's blessings tradition was just one way for us to embrace and share that love. A true blessing.
