Tuesday: Mom, LeAnn, Rylie and I went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then made a quick trip to Claire's while Dad, Reed, Matt and Isaac went to the God's Great Outdoors Sportsmen's Banquet. They had a great time. Isaac was in heaven!! They gave out LOTS of door prizes, starting with the kids. Matt said they gave out about 20 DVDs, some pictures, a couple fishing poles....Isaac was crossing both fingers, waiting patiently on his knees. He didn't get called & he thought they were done. Then came the grand prize-a real bow. Would you believe they called his name!!!! He was ecstatic!! He held it for a while, touching all the parts then said, "Dad, maybe I should give this to Rylie since I have a 410." To top it off, Reed and Matt won magazine subscriptions and Dad won the adult grand prize!!!
Wednesday: We went tubing at Mad River Mountain!!! Rylie had earned a free pass back in November for getting straight A's so we thought we should use it before the season ended. It actually worked out for the best b/c the temperature was above freezing!!! Lots of fun! Isaac got a scare on his first trip down by himself but ended up loving it! We had been going down with our tubes hooked together, but Isaac decided to go by himself. The kid at the top barely gave Isaac enough time to get settled in his tube then spun him around (many times very fast) before sending him down the hill. His boots flew off!! He had to tip toe to the mats at the bottom so his feet wouldn't get soaked. My motherly instincts kicked in and I wanted to drag that kid into the manager's office, but Matt kept me calm. We were all at the top of the hill & Isaac was at the bottom by himself--I didn't know what he had thought. Was he cheering with excitement or ready to go home??? He was ready to again, of course. Just without so much spinning!
We are ready!
Thursday: Upwards Basketball Awards. A busy, crowded, chaotic time. The last game is today.
Friday: 7:00 soccer game. This was the first game that the kids and I were able to make it to. Do you think the kids watched the game? Maybe a little. But they enjoyed playing with Maddie and Braden. Rylie gave us a little scare. They were playing hide n seek. She and Maddie were hiding together and Maddie made a run for the base. Rylie changed her spot and NO ONE could find her. She had on a black shirt with a hood. So, she found an empty chair on the end and sat in that with her hood up and arms folded. It took a long time to find her!!!
