Bittersweet

Today is a bittersweet day for me. Normally, I would be heading back to school for teacher workdays. But, God has blessed me with the privilege of staying at home for the first time. I am very excited about this new season in my life, yet, there is still a part of me that will miss my friends, kiddos at school and career. When I start to have those feelings, I just remind myself that through prayer and faithful waiting, God worked in our lives to bring us to where we are. When I was on the decision making journey, He used the song "While I'm Waiting" from Fireproof to comfort me, give me patience and wait for Him. I am often reminded of the verse from Jeremiah 29:11 that says, " 'For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' " I am constantly reminded to relinquish the control I desire over my life and surrender to His control. When we do this, amazing things happen!

And right now, as I continue to seek His plans for me and our family, there is a song from Facing the Giants that keeps coming to my mind.
