Fun Day at the Zoo Then Back to School!

We decided to close out summer vacation with a trip to the zoo. The weather was perfect yesterday! Definitely not too hot! The animals were fairly active, too! The kids enjoyed the new polar bear exhibit. We made it just in time for an animal encounter, so the zookeepers were feeding the fish in the polar bear tank and the polar bears were "fishing" for themselves! What made the trip really special was that Matt could come with us! God has blessed us with the flexibility in his schedule to do fun things like this! Thanks for pulling us in the wagon, Dad! Mom wouldn't have even let us take the wagon.

Having fun at the orangutan exhibit-
Let's compare our hand sizes!

Isaac was very much into taking pictures of the animals this year.
One of his favorite animals is the eagle.
And the Okapi is one of my favorites!
Every time I look at it, I am reminded of how
God is Creator and things just didn't happen by chance.
We were specially designed by a Creative, Amazing God!

Back to school! Rylie is super excited about starting 3rd grade. She couldn't sleep last night! It was almost 10:00 before she fell asleep. But, when her alarm went off at 6:10, she hit the floor running. Isaac is excited, too, but with the last minute change of his teacher, we are all just a little apprehensive. We will see how it goes. Definitely keeping our options open! He does have a few kids in his class from last year so that will help. Oh, he also has a bubbly student teacher. We are praying that allows for a positive transition to 1st grade. The kids had a great morning and hopefully a great start to the school year.

Probably won't have too many years where they will
hug each other AND smile for pics!
Waiting for the bus...
Couldn't resist this picture!
Can you guess what Isaac is doing?
Picking up rocks!!!!
In our driveway!!!
