The weekend of the 20th was spent with family. My aunt and some of her children came for the weekend. We had a family reunion in Lexington on Saturday. The kids enjoyed playing with their cousins. They really treasure the time they get to spend with them. Isaac missed Holden but we are hoping to visit again soon.
We went camping with Luke and Renee last weekend. It was our first camping experience as a family--in a tent. Let's just say that we are going to invest in a mat to go under the sleeping bag!!! The kids had a blast and it really wasn't bad. The State Park and campgrounds were very nice. The restroom and shower facilities were surprisingly clean.
Isaac knocked one of his teeth loose wrestling around with Matt at Luke and Renee's. He wiggled it all the way to the campgrounds. After we set up the tent, he came out holding his tooth with a little blood in his hand. He had pulled the tooth out! The tooth fairy visited him at the campgrounds, but he didn't buy into the idea. He insisted I was the tooth fairy.
Fishing at the lake wasn't the same as fishing in the pond at Grandma and Grandpa Conrad's. The fish really weren't biting. The kids lost interest after about an hour. Luke and Matt ended up with 4 each but they didn't get much bigger than the trophy Luke is holding here.
After fishing, Isaac and Renee thought they would get the fire going.
Breakfast at the campsite!
Tonight, we went to watch a few girls from church play soccer for their high school team. The kids enjoyed watching them play. They also got to be "ball kids" which made it even more fun! It is such a blessing to have kids that age from church that are good role models for Rylie and Isaac. They really look up to them and watch their every move!
