Isaac's Birthday

OK. So it has been a while!  Let's see.  Back to the first weekend in October.  We had a very good friend and his wife stop in for a visit on their way to a wedding.  It was so nice to visit with Joe and Amy.  It is neat to have friends that even though you don't see each other often, when you do get together, it is just like old times!!

We also went to the fall camp out at a local state park with Matt's family.  The kids were able to dress up in costumes.  Isaac didn't feel well so he just layed around while Rylie and Layni went trick-or-treating.  Mindi gave Isaac some tylenol and once that kicked in, he was able to enjoy the rest of the evening--roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, going on a hay ride and playing with Rylie and Layni at the camp site.  I forgot my camera so I don't have any pics.

We went to a football game the next weekend.  It was the Tigers (Rylie's school) vs. the Jets (Isaac's baby-sitter's sons play for them).  Rylie used to cheer for the Jets but since she started school, she is now a true Tiger!  She had on her Tigers shirt and we painted a paw print on her cheek.  She HAD to sit on the Tigers side.  Isaac, however, has not been converted to a Tiger fan and was not about to sit on the "kitty cats'" side (as he likes to call them).  He sat with his babysitter the whole game in his jet gear with his face painted with the boys' football numbers on each cheek.

Now, we are up to Isaac's birthday.  He turned 5 last Wednesday.  He went to Chuck E. Cheese with Kim and then we met Grandma and Grandpa at Texas Roadhouse between violin and soccer.  He wouldn't let them sing to him, though.  For family night on Thursday, he asked LeAnn to make those cookies with the one hershey's kiss on top for his birthday treat.  We had his birthday party on Saturday at the gym.  He is so fun to watch open his gifts.  Each gift just seems like it is what he has always wanted.  God has blessed us with a supportive family and many friends to share these precious milestones with.

This is Isaac trying out one of his new birthday gifts--a soft air gun.
