Let's see....Isaac has had a fun week at school. They are celebrating the work of Dr. Seuss and were allowed to wear hats, crazy socks, wacky clothes and pjs.

"Wacky Clothes Day"
I do have a good Isaac story from Tuesday afternoon. He and I were the only ones home. I was talking on the phone and, as usual, he was right at my feet wanting something. When I got off the phone, with backpack in hand, he asked if he could have a utility tool with pocket knives in it so he could pretend to be Bear Gryles from Man vs. Wild. Of course, the answer was no. He got upset and stormed off to his room. I have a policy that when you are mad, you can't stomp off and hide in your room. But, I was busy--trying to get laundry done, taking the dog out, getting things together to meet Matt at Red Lobster for his birthday. So, I let him go. When I called him downstairs because it was time to go, he said "wait a minute. I'm coming." When he finally came down, he said "I just had to finish packing my things. I packed winter clothes, spring clothes, summer clothes and my rocks." He was leaving. After some more questions, he informed me that he wasn't running away, he was just moving in with Mamma. He wanted to know which bed he was going to be sleeping in at her house. My mom thought it was pretty funny but I reminded her how much trouble we got into as kids when we would say things like that. Isaac knows that running away or "moving" is not an option and that there are better ways to deal with anger.
Tonight we had Rylie's Upward Awards Ceremony. It wasn't much of an "awards ceremony" but they did have a few speakers. One of them was a senior from a high school basketball with a great testimony of how he has relied on God and led his team in prayer before games. This lit a spark in 2 of the other boys who are Christians and they also began to participate in the prayer. Against a tough team, he told his team about the story of David and Goliath and how David had God on his side and that they could too. After that, a boy who was not a Christian told him that he had chills from the story and that he thought God's presence was there. He had written 2 scripture verses on his basketball shoes to act as constant reminders while he was playing-Mark 10:27 and Philippians 4:13. I felt like it was a real-life Facing The Giants story. This program has been a tremendous blessing!!
"Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." Mark 10:27
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
