Update!

I have been prompted by Renee to update my blog. Here you go, sister!

The kids enjoyed VBS at Oak Grove the week of 7/18. They went on a "vast voyage" through the Word of God, learning to use the Bible as their guide. They learned that God's Word is true, comforting, surprising, life-changing, and for everyone. Here are some pics from the closing program along with some lyrics the kids wanted to share.

"Shout to the north and the south! Sing to the east and the west!
Jesus is Savior to all. Lord of heaven and earth!"
"Today is the day! I will rejoice and be glad in it. I won't worry
about tomorrow. I'm trusting in what you say. Today is the day!
Oh, Oh, Oh-oh!"
"Our God is a great big God! And He holds us in His hands.
He's higher than a skyscraper, He's deeper than a submarine.
He's wider than the universe, And beyond my wildest dreams.
He's known me and He's loved me since before the world began;
How wonderful to be a part of God's amazing plan!"
"From the page to your heart, God's Word is where you are.
Read it now and your life will change. It's exciting, surprising,
each and every day. Read it now and your life will change."

We headed to Ft. Wayne for the week of 7/26 to assist with a backyard vbs at Sherry's. What a neat ministry opportunity! God provided us with a full crowd. I think the count was 19. The gospel message was shared with kids from their neighborhood and it was very neat to see the kids open up as the week went on! It is our prayer that a seed was planted and that it will grow into an intense love for Jesus. We used a great curriculum from Answers in Genesis-The Egypt File: Decoding the Mystery of Life. The kids learned lots of great truths and were given catch phrases to help them remember..."They can't make a monkey out of me!", "God thought of everything!", "SMYLE! God loves you!", "Life is precious-handle with care!", and "What I really want to do is live each day for You!" The week was fast and furious, yet fun and refreshing! The kids enjoyed their free time opportunities...pool, play, and a surprise scavenger photo game with Uncle Dale. The game with Dale brought back memories of some of the crazy things we did as kids with Uncle Dale!! I didn't take any pictures throughout the week, but will hopefully have some to share from Sherry soon.

We got home early Friday evening and the kids entertained themselves while I unpacked. They were able to convince Mamma AND PAPPA to play a game of kickball with them!
