Back to School!

The kids are back to school today after a 4 day weekend. As you have seen already from the previous posts, we have been busy!

First, I want to congratulate my friends, Joe and Amy, on the arrival of their little boy, Connor Patrick Harrity. Mom and baby are doing well (dad is too for that matter). God has entrusted them with this precious little life and we will continue to keep them in our prayers as baby Connor grows and they grow together as a family.

On Monday, we enjoyed time at the Labor Day Festival...good company and good food! The kids were also able to spend time with Grandma Lynda and Grandpa Ron. Lynda had a booth there; she is selling pandora style beads so the kids helped "sell" jewelry. For family night, we went fishing with Reed, LeAnn, Eli, Mamma and Pap. We got home too late for a campfire, but the kids were content with microwave s'mores and a breakfast campfire. We were blessed with the perfect tent sleeping weather!!! It was cool but not cold, and definitely not hot!

The kids love fishing, although their patience varies.
But so does mine! I'm not a patient fisherman.

The kids wanted campfire cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I thought, "What a great idea! That shouldn't be too hard!" We cooked them and cooked them. The outside was getting done, almost too done, but the inside was still super gooey! Hey, fine by me!!! Rylie said those were the best cinnamon rolls she's ever had. I asked them where they got the idea and they said some friends at church. So, Julie, did you ever figure out how to make them work?

Evidence from the campfire breakfast...

LeAnn went into work on Tuesday for a teacher inservice, so we were able to spend time with Eli for a few hours. The kids are super interested in helping and holding!!! Cousins (& nieces & nephews) are so much fun!

Smiling at Aunt Sarah!
(his tongue ended up getting in the way)
Isaac thought he would be able to push Eli
around on their doctor cart...like a delivery cart.
He didn't understand why the answer was no...
"Mom, I put a pillow on there and I can get one of
my belts to strap him on!"
Eli had "fun" watching Gracie and
Gracie loved watching over Eli.
By the look in Eli's eyes, he is saying,
"Don't let her get any closer to me!"
Don't worry little buddy!

Eli is adorable! I love it that Isaac wanted to put him on the cart:)

And no- I haven't tried the cinnamon rolls again. I think I'll stick with my oven recipe! Sounds like such a fun time camping!
