"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ." (Ephesians 1:7-9)
I am so thankful for God's amazing grace that saved me and made me a benefactor of the Ultimate Sacrifice made by Jesus Christ on the cross! But it doesn't stop there. I am so thankful for His amazing grace that can be uncomfortable and allows me to be a participant in the life, the suffering of Christ. God, thank you for Your saving grace that has covered the cost of my sins and for Your uncomfortable grace that refines and purifies me daily. In Your death and Your resurrection, You conquered death, defeated the enemy, and in that, You have given me victory over death and the enemy, as well. Thank you for Your Great Love, O God!
Eli and I spend a lot of time listening to my iPod in the background of our activity. We usually split the time between kids' songs and my praise and worship songs. These are the songs that have been stuck in my head all day; I should say, the songs that God has placed in my mind for me to focus on today.
(Sovereign Grace Music)
I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way.
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave.
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will.
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still.
But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross.
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace.
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life
Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me.
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose.
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You.
I Have a Shelter
(Sovereign Grace Music)
I have a shelter in the storm
When troubles pour upon me
Though fears are rising like a flood
My soul can rest securely
O Jesus, I will hide in You
My place of peace and solace
No trial is deeper than Your love
That comforts all my sorrows
I have a shelter in the storm
When all my sins accuse me
Though justice charges me with guilt
Your grace will not refuse me
O Jesus, I will hide in You
Who bore my condemnation
I find my refuge in Your wounds
For there I find salvationI have a shelter in the storm
When constant winds would break me
For in my weakness, I have learned
Your strength will not forsake me
O Jesus, I will hide in You
The One who bears my burdens
With faithful hands that cannot fail
You’ll bring me home to heaven

We listen to those two songs over and over and over at our house...and the boys are starting to learn the words! Did you know that all the music at Sovereign Grace's store is on sale this month? I don't have an ipod...so I just got three new cds in the mail today...6 dollars each! The mp3 files are on sale too, I think! Perhaps it would be worth checking out! :) Have a wonderful day!
You are such an encouragement to me! To be counted worthy to be a part of Christ's reward in the life to come and enjoy the sweet fellowship of fellow believers while in this life is truly life in abundance! What am amazing love, how can it be? That my King would die for me. Thanks for the reminders!
