Anniversary Weekend

Matt and I celebrated our 11th anniversary on Friday! I am so thankful for the man and lifelong companion God has blessed me with. As I look back over the last 11 years, I am very thankful for the way God has grown and refined us as individuals, drawing us closer to Him and the way He has grown us as a couple, again drawing us closer to Him. Matt and I have been married for 11 years, but when I think about how long he has actually been a major part of my life, our first date was in August of 1993! Wow!

When the kids realized it was our anniversary, Rylie was very adamant about making us an anniversary dinner. I told her that we were definitely going to go out on Friday, our actual anniversary, to celebrate together, but that she could make us dinner on Saturday. So, while we were out on Friday, Rylie and Isaac made a grocery list and took the money I had given them and asked Mamma to take them to the store to purchase the necessary supplies and ingredients. They planned and created a menu and spent a lot of time Saturday with food preparations. We enjoyed a very special dinner created, prepared and served by Rylie and Isaac at the Family and Friends Restaurant.

Rylie tended to serve small portions of drinks and food...
but she was quick to get us refills and seconds.
This was the amount of tea she brought me...
probably 4 or 5 times.
Rylie and Isaac ate in the kitchen.
This was the table they set up for themselves.
This was the main course. The appetizer was asparagus
and the dessert was crockpot cake and ice cream.
(Matt ate 1/2 his brat before I snapped this picture.)
The bill...all food was free but gratuity was included in the bill!
