3, 2, 1.....Blast Off!!!

We enjoyed time with friends on Saturday evening. The highlight of the evening was rocket making and rocket launching! Lots of fun!

Painting the final touches

Let's launch these rockets!
Boys!

We went across the road to launch the rockets at some soccer fields so we would have plenty of space. It wasn't just the kids who were excited!

Anticipation!
Of course, Rylie was asking lots of questions
about how things were going to work!
All of the rockets blasted off. Only 2 stayed in one piece and had the parachute bring them back to the ground gracefully. Even though Rylie's and Isaac's rockets came down with a crash and a few less fins, they thought it was awesome! There was also a 6 foot rocket that had completed several successful launches before. On Saturday, the flight was a little less than successful. The 6 ft rocket separated from the parachute and came crashing down...behind the soccer fields, over some trees, and nose first on top of the Sportsmen's Clubhouse. Isaac thought it was cool that he was hoisted onto the roof to grab the crumpled rocket.

This was the 6 ft rocket pre-launch...pre-crash.

The kids had their spring violin recital on Sunday.
They both worked hard and did a wonderful job!

Isaac played Minuet 2.
Rylie played Judas Maccabaeus.

A very dear friend shared these verses with me this week. I am always amazed at how God uses people in our lives at just the right time to meet our needs. These verses gave me comfort and peace and reminded me where my refuge is and that I am to trust in God, not myself. That He wants me to pour out my heart to Him. That God, my refuge, is my Rock and my Fortress!

Psalm 62:5-8

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.
