Expecting...

Most of you know by now that we are expecting.... Yes, a baby! This was definitely a surprise to us and it has been a BIG adjustment for me to get used to the idea of our new life. I can't say that I am "used" to it yet, or used to what life will be like when the baby does arrive. We tend to get so set in our ways and our own plans, forgetting that there are plans much bigger and better than our own. This has been a very real reminder that God is sovereign and in control, and that I am to submit to His plans, worship Him and find refuge in Him. The kids have been super excited!!! The doctor even did an ultrasound for them on one appointment that they had to come with me for. I was just hoping they could come in and listen to the heartbeat. What a miracle to witness! A little life growing inside a momma! The baby was even sucking its thumb.

I went for a routine check up on Tuesday and the girls in the office realized that I was far enough along to tell if the baby was a boy or girl, so they talked the ultrasound lady into doing a quick check. I guess that is one of the perks of Matt's mom working at the doctor's office. Good thing Matt was with me or I would've had to tell them no. :) Boy or Girl? Because of our schedule and Matt's travel, we had to wait til last night to tell the kids. I baked a cake and colored the inside pink or blue and this was the way we shared the news with the Rylie and Isaac.
