Catching Up

This past weekend was the Hot Air Balloon Festival. It has become a tradition for us to go over and watch the Balloon Glow on Saturday night. We also wake up on Saturday and Sunday mornings to balloons spotting the sky around our house! The kids love it. Matt's parents were able to join us this year.

The Balloon Glow

As I watched the balloons light up,
I stood in awe of the true light of the world!

A balloon landed in the yard just across the field from us.
They were so close we could hear them talking throughout
the process of taking the balloon down.
The kids are hoping one decides to land in our yard sometime!

Rylie headed to camp on Monday morning with her friend Lydie. I have been able to see a few picture on the camp website of activities so far this week. Thank you to all who have been praying for her this week!

Ready to Go!

They must have chosen to do a craft during some free time.

Isaac was already bored Monday morning. At least missing company....He wanted to make something out of recycled items--something I normally would have said, "Let's do that later after I get this done" or "maybe later" (and then I often forget about it and it never happens). I am trying to be better at being a "yes mom" (from Jill Savage's blog, Hearts at Home). His idea and this activity did not hurt anything and were only an inconvenience if I chose to look at them that way. That is where being a "yes mom" comes into play. So, instead of my usual response, I stopped what I was doing and helped him carry out his plan to make a bird house out of a milk carton, a yogurt container, and an ice cream container. I operated the utility knife and the hot glue gun. He was the mastermind.
