We decided at lunch time on Monday that we would travel to western KY and southern IN with Matt for a few days. It truly was a last minute decision! We were packed and in the car by early afternoon! While Matt was working on Tuesday, Isaac and I went to a very large pool with water slides and wading pools. I am sure he would have had more fun if Rylie or Matt were there (I'm not much fun in the water), but we enjoyed our time together! We had thought about going to the zoo, but when the heat index was over 100 degrees, it seemed to be a no brainer to go somewhere with water, and lots of it! When Matt dropped us off, we realized we couldn't take our cooler with snacks and water in. I was already beginning to think, "Here we go!" Nothing was going our way and we really hadn't even started--"it's 100 degrees and we have no drinks or snacks and are here for several hours with no way out." We walked in and there were no empty pool chairs to be found. We walked all the way around to the back near the wading pools and there it was! ONE chair in the corner...in the SHADE! God is good! And He has amazing ways of making sure I "check" my heart attitude and look to experience Him and the gospel in the most mundane moments of my life. We had a great day and the shade kept me comfortable.
On our way home on Wednesday, we stopped in Indy for lunch. I did a quick search for restaurants that had been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. There were actually quite a few! We ended up at The Barking Dog Cafe because of the different seafood rolls Matt could pick from. For him, it was just okay. The rolls were kinda small and just kinda plain. Isaac ordered a single cheeseburger that was HUGE!!! He thought it was pretty cool! I ordered the BLT...and I didn't say no tomato like I usually do. I then looked up at the board on the wall and saw that was one of the things Guy had eaten when he was there. Boy, was I glad I didn't skip the tomato! It wasn't just a tomato slapped onto the sandwich. It was a tomato jam....Delicious! I was thrilled with my selection!
Now, we are home and Isaac is having a friend sleepover!!! Fun times!
