Cousins

This has been a wonderful week! We really had no plans so we were just at home...enjoying time together. We did school work, our Bold Believers in India lessons and projects, had reading time each day, did some baking, and ate at HOME every day! We were able to swim when we wanted and keep cool inside the rest of the time. It has been a blessing to have air conditioning and the pool in our backyard this week! I am ready for a cool down! At least for it to be cool in the evenings (or the early mornings for my walks).

We enjoyed some cousin time on Wednesday when Renee and Lissa came down to swim and play for awhile.

I also wanted to share this from the book I am reading, Comforts from the Cross, by Elyse Fitzpatrick. It is part of a prayer at the end of Chapter 7, Unfazed by Grace?.

"Lord, thank you that you haven't given me what I deserved. In your lavish generoisty, you humbled yourself and became just like me so that you could love and die in my place. Thank you that you continue to pour out your grace on me. Cause me to drink freely of this grace and believe that you love me like this. Thank you also for reminding me that I can never repay what I owe and that the proper response is to simply say, 'Thank you.' Thank you, Jesus."

A good reminder that I, in my own strength, can do nothing to gain favor in the sight of God. I am to focus on the grace He has lavished upon me and extend that grace to all those around me, regardless of my circumstances or what someone may have done or not done to me. I am to look to Christ and grow in my love for Him so that I can love others the way He has called me to.
