One thing Rylie had on her list to do was make a trip to Fort Wayne. We did that the first few days they were gone. Check. A great time was had, as usual. Rylie enjoyed time with the cousins-playing, talking, swimming, swim meet, and lots more fun packed into a few days.
We had signed Rylie up for a soccer camp the week the guys were gone to give her something to do. Two friends from church were signed up and she ended up having a friend from school go with her, also. It was a hot week, but she had a blast. Lots of soccer-ball handling, drills, competitions, games, games and more games. They also had a character quality they talked about each day with biblical examples and real life ways to demonstrate them: commitment, discipline, encouragement, courage. There were 3 groups and 3 coaches. On the last day, Rylie performed well enough in her group in ball handling and dribbling that she was able to compete in a camp competition in those areas (2 from each group). Her coach also selected her as his Camper of the Week. He said he not only looked at talent and ability, but attitude, willingness to help, desire to be there, enthusiasm, lack of complaining, and those character qualities they talked about. So proud of her! She was excited and had some good news to share with the boys when they got home.
We had great girl time with lots of opportunities for good conversations. So thankful for the young lady that God has blessed us with. It is so neat to see how He is working in her life as she grows in her relationship with Him.
Thank you so much to Mamma who so selflessly helped us take care of a sick dog so we could continue with our planned activities!!!!
