The Boys Are Home!

The boys made it home from their Canada fishing trip on Friday afternoon. They had a wonderful time and it has been so fun to listen to their stories...new details are added each day! Isaac has been on "cloud 9", although on their trip home, he asked to talk to me twice. :) He was the youngest (the only kid) in the camp but made some good friends, Dr. Larry and his wife, Lois. Rushing Wind Resort is a christian ministry based camp and the guys were there with God's Great Outdoors. They fished every day, ate fish they caught at 3 meals, enjoyed fellowship, music, speakers, testimonies, and just time in God's marvelous creation. Oh...when I say "guys," I mean Dad, Matt, Isaac, Paul (a friend from church), and Francis (a friend from Matt and Dad's work). Matt and Isaac were definitely blessed by the experience and are looking forward for another opportunity to make the trip in the future. I was a little worried about sending enough stuff to keep Isaac entertained all week, but Matt said he did great. He was polite, well behaved, fished like crazy, listened to all the speakers and was invited back by many! Matt was surprised that he kept drinking water at all the meals even when asked if he wanted something else. He said, "Mom told me I should drink water so I don't get dehydrated so that's what I'm doing." That's my boy!

Some of the highlights of the trip for Isaac:
  • Sitting in the co-pilot seat on the float plane
  • Catching the first fish in the group-a 24 incher
  • Catching 4 species of fish
  • Eagle sightings
  • A fish anatomy lesson from Dr. Larry-The fish they were dissecting was blind in one eye. They could tell by the size/shape of the lenses. He brought the lenses home to show us....Very Cool!
  • All the attention he received from everyone
