Our August

As I look back over my last post, it seems like just last week we were at the State Fair. Where has August gone?!! We have since been on a fossil hunt, took in a Dragon's game, went camping and started back to school. We also had lots of doctors' appointments & back to school shopping and soccer practices have now started.

Here is a look at our August through pictures...

God's Great Outdoor Fossil Hunt with Dr. John Whitmore:

Friends from church were also there to explore
the fossils in God's creation!

What an awesome reminder of God's faithfulness to judge,
uphold the righteous, and keep His promises!
We have evidence of this world-wide event, the flood of Noah,
right here in our own backyard!!!

Genesis 9:12-16 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

We enjoyed a fun time at the Dragon's Game with Grandma & Grandpa!
Both kids had their eyes & gloves ready for foul balls!

Camping:
We met friends for some playtime and a picnic lunch
while Matt was working one morning.

Isaac is getting a lesson on how to throw a curve ball.
He was curious after our recent Dragon's game outing.
We told him to ask the "pro."
Whittling: A favorite camping activity
It takes A LOT of concentration!Fishing is another one of our "must do" camping activities.
Let's see...Isaac caught the first and most bluegill.
But Rylie caught the biggest. We were blessed to have Luke, Renee and Lissa join us for the weekend.
Reed and Eli came down to visit for a while, too.

Rylie and Lissa hanging out before breakfast...
Isaac taking a turn at entertaining Lissa...He had her giggling pretty good! It was very cute!

First Day of School:

Rylie, Grade 4 & Isaac, Grade 2
They get on the bus pretty early (6:40) so it was still pretty dark out.
