Reflecting

I have lots of pictures from the last few weeks to share but first wanted to share something I heard leading up to the anniversary of 9/11 that has stuck with me and reminded me that even in the face of pain and uneasiness, we are to praise His name.  I have sung the lyrics to the song, Blessed Be Your Name, over and over in the last several years not knowing where they came from, not really even thinking about it.  Matt Redman and his wife, Beth, actually wrote the song in the shadows of the tragedy on 9/11 giving us words to use to worship God despite those tragic events.  What an awesome reminder of how we are to continue to worship Him despite our circumstances...sickness, miscarriages, death of a loved one, uncertain futures, unemployment....  We all face seasons of pain and this song gives us words to cry out to God.

Just wanted to share this new perspective and the lyrics to the song.

Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
