Close Call

The kids had soccer games on Monday and even though it was a little chilly, Eli came out to cheer them on! He was bundled up and ready for some soccer! As long as the weather cooperates, we will have a replay tonight.

LeAnn-What is it with the angle of cameras making things look
huge?! Your hand looks ginormous!!!

We definitely serve an Awesome God! After the games, Matt's mom was the first one out of the parking lot, followed by Matt and Isaac. Rylie and I were flagged down by the coach because Isaac had left his water bottle at the field (for the second time in one night). A car turned on to 68 but into the wrong lane...and was driving there! Heading right for oncoming traffic! There was a truck in front of Matt's mom and they were traveling the speed limit-55mph, followed by Matt and Isaac. All of a sudden, Matt saw the truck swerve, well practically jack knife, to avoid hitting the oncoming car. Then, Matt's mom had to swerve just as the person realized what he was doing and got back in his lane. According to Matt and his mom, it was a very close call! The protection provided by God was evident! Without the hand of God protecting them, who knows what would have happened. We are rejoicing in God's protection and deliverance! Just as the Lord delivered my family from this dangerous situation, He has delivered us from the chains of sin through his precious Son, Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the cross. I am reminded that I need to go to the cross daily to celebrate what He did for me and that every facet of my day-to-day life should be affected by His life, death and resurrection.

I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:1-3

Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Psalm 32:6-8
