Busy Weekend

Things have been pretty uneventful around here lately, which has been nice! I have been enjoying my time at home with Eli (and Matt when he is in town during the week). We are in between sport seasons right now, so there is no running to practices in the evening. We enjoyed a walk/bike ride at the park last Thursday evening. The kids thought they were big stuff b/c we let them ride bikes on the bike path while Matt and I walked through the center of the park on the road to meet them at the other side. They are growing up!

Friday afternoon, we left for Fort Wayne for the weekend. Sherry and Dale were out of town last week, so we were blessed with the opportunity to go spend time with kids and help out there. I even got to drive the "bus" and I didn't hit any curbs!! On Friday night, Alyssa took the boys and Sophie to a basketball game while Mackenzie had a spa night for Rylie and Haley. This was a weekend full of dance performances for Alyssa, Mackenzie and Haley. They were doing The Wizard of Oz. We enjoyed a character brunch and the early performance. Sophie was a little afraid of the characters, especially during the brunch when they were walking around interacting with us in character. She particularly did not like the wicked witch or the lion. We came home yesterday morning so the kids could participate in their violin ensemble performance at a local nursing home. They were wonderful! So proud of them! We were driving home from Ft. Wayne during the time we would normally be at church, so the kids and I savored that time together singing praise and worship songs to our Lord, God who reigns from heaven above. How sweet!

Poor Alyssa!
The girls are receiving their Satin Hands treatment.
Rylie is enjoying hot chocolate in fine china while she
waits for her face mask to dry.
The girls thought it was funny to watch each other make
faces once their masks dried. Watching the wrinkles that were
created gave them the giggles!!!
Thank you, Mackenzie!!!!
Glenda, the good witch (Alyssa) and the Yellow Brick Road
Dorothy (Mackenzie) is asking Isaac if he wants to pet Toto.
The wicked witch is trying to convince Rylie that she
should want to look like her.

The kids at their violin ensemble performance...
Here are a few verses that I was reminded of this weekend. So thankful that my strength comes from our Almighty Lord and Savior. He is worthy to be praised! Let them praise His name with the dance. (Psalm 149:3) The Lord is my strength and my shield...with my song I will praise Him. (Psalm 28:7) Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises. (Psalm 98:4)
