Walking in...
If I would have told him that, there would have been no way!
As I reflect on the program and my reading this week, I think about the phrase, "the sky is falling." We all, at one time or another, feel like "the sky is falling." Like our world is crumbling in around us. Therein lies the problem. Or at the least the problem with my thinking...."my world." I often live for "my kingdom," making sure everything goes according to MY plan. However, it isn't "my kingdom" that I should be living for at all. It is God's Kingdom and His plan. My life should be gospel-centered. The gospel should affect me as I go through my daily grind. Yes, I know Jesus came to pay the price for my sins, to save me, to give me eternal life. But how does that impact and how should that impact me daily in all of my actions and my relationships? I am reading Because He Loves Me by Elyse Fitzpatrick for the 2nd time and just finished a chapter that had a much bigger impact on me this time around. It is funny how God opens our eyes to His truths at just the right time. It is my goal to be more intentional about looking at the things that happen to me, around me, and as a result of me in a much different light, God's Light, the Light that emanates from the Gospel...the Light of Christ. Elyse talks about how "every forward step depends upon summing up the main points of the gospel and then living them out in our lives. Over and over again, we've got to take ourselves back to the incarnation, the crucifixion, the resurrection, and the ascension." I hope to elaborate on this soon. But, for now, I am shutting down my computer, eagerly awaiting Matt to get home from his trip this week. God is good.
