Holden and Eli...trying for a hole-in-one!
Avery and Pappa Jones, her great grandpa
The gang...
Boy was it tough to get a picture of Eli and Avery
after 18 holes of putt putt!
Eli walking with Mamma Jones to get ice cream
Buds!
These two were worn out after putt putt.
I am not sure we were out of the parking lot
before we took this picture!
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children, To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children, To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
Psalm 103:17-18
Happy Mother's Day!
So thankful that God has blessed me with the opportunity to be a mom to these three wonderful children. He has given me Rylie, Isaac, and Avery for only a little while--to love them, teach them His ways, give them grace and dazzle them with the love of Jesus...for His glory...not my own.
As mom's, we often compare ourselves to others (those supermom types to whom we are comparing our inward to their outward) and to the mom we think we should be (that image we have created in our head); we always seem to fall short. We listen to those whispers from others and the lies of our enemy that we should have done this or that or "Ooops, once again that wasn't good enough." We are sinners who live with sinful husbands and sinful children in a sin-cursed world. I love this blog post from Elyse Fitzpatrick that reminds us of who we are in Christ on this Mother's Day.
A beloved daughter, above all
Whatever happens this Sunday remember this: You are loved. You are forgiven. You are righteous. Not because of anything you can do, but only because of what Jesus has already done.Go ahead and receive praise and gifts with a smile, but remember these paltry baubles aren’t anything in comparison to one drop of that precious blood. His work has made you his, and he has given you an eternal identity. You are his beloved daughter in whom he is well pleased.
