Finally Feels Like Summer!

It has seemed like we were never going to get into the groove of summer with camp after camp. We picked Rylie up from b-ball camp on Wednesday and we have a few weeks before Scioto Hills.  With Ry's camp being overnight, we were able to be at home...actually using the swimming pool, not having to worry about picking someone up at noon or 3 while working around a nap at some point during the day for Avery.

With the ability to sleep in a little, there is a little more flexibility for later nights and grown-up opportunities for Isaac (he has been asking for more responsibilities and privileges). There have been some nuisances back at the barn getting into goat feed and making a mess.  Isaac was able to take a trip back one night to help get rid of the problem.  He used his new shotgun and was super excited to come back and share that it only took him TWO shells to get the TWO raccoons.  They ended up with a total of 4 that night.  And that is in addition to 5 more that Matt and a neighbor took care of a few weeks ago!

Luke and Lissa were able to come down on Friday, the 14th, to spend some time for Pappa Jones's 75th birthday celebration.  We do have to say thank you to Uncle Luke for helping us finally break the pigs' wills!  We can actually walk them down the lane...together....without much struggle.  It just took one more adult who wasn't going to give in...Matt and I are definitely glad to not be fighting those pigs anymore!

The cousins and Uncle Luke enjoyed some pool time...
except for Avery who wouldn't get in until the end of last week.

Rylie made and decorated the cake for Pappa's 75th
birthday party.  When we think about Pappa,
one thing that always comes to mind is patriotism.
So, she went with a red, white, and blue theme.

We are so thankful for the life that Pappa has lived...
He is often a man of few words, but has shared much
wisdom with each of us throughout the years.
His life has been a testimony of his relationship with
our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We love you, Pappa.

We also celebrated Father's Day last weekend.
We are thankful for the husband, leader, and father that
God has blessed our family with...You're the best, Matt!

Our celebration ended at a cookout at Matt's uncle's new house.
I think we will be making frequent trips to Uncle Rick's for
much anticipated and desired time on the lake!  The kids had a blast!

Time on the Pontoon
Isaac, Layni, Lyvi, Rylie, and Avery

Can't tell they are father-daughter! Lol!

This girl absolutely LOVED the "bo" (boat).

Isaac quickly learned to kayak thanks to Uncle Pat.  He spent some time tooling around by the dock and then made a trip across the lake with Matt and another long ride with Scott and Leslie.  Thanks, Scott , for bringing over your kayaks, too, so Isaac could have buddies on the lake.

Avery...finally enjoying the "po-u" (pool)
Now I can't keep her out of it!

What is summer without baseball!
Avery's favorite part of the Dragons games is Heater and Gem, the mascots.
In this pic, she caught a glimpse of them!

We were enjoying a night of baseball with the cub scouts.
Isaac and Caleb were asked to participate in sack races in the 3rd inning.
The kids are always asking how people get picked for the contests between innings...
and WE FINALLY GOT PICKED!
But, there was a rain delay at the bottom of the 2nd, and after waiting 2 hours,
we were told the field was too wet for sack races.  Bummer!!!!

Fun on the slide with Eli!  Her face says it all!
